Pig Republic in Fora Mall, Tagaytay

November 5, 2019 Fora, Tagaytay Rotonda, Tagaytay, 4120 Cavite, Philippines

Hello! Welcome to my blog! So you are probably here because you are looking for a restaurant that serves affordable yet scrumptious meal located in Tagaytay City, because as most of us know Tagaytay City is a well known weekend/holiday getaway just near the Metro. People come to this area due to the fact that Tagaytay is home to must-try restaurants and eateries, i'm about to introduce you to one and I warn you the content you are about to see will make you hungry.

Brief Introduction of Pig Republic

Pig Republic is a Barbecue House, they were formerly known as Lady Christine's Baby Back Ribs. Just from their former name, apparently they are popular for their Baby Back Ribs. You can find them at Fora Mall Tagaytay.

The interior of Pig Republic is industrial-themed hence the neutral-toned wall, chairs and tables. Then the owner just added a bit of their personality into the interior by adding some decors that has something to do with traveling like the tiny toy planes, photos of places around the world, and world clock because the owners love traveling.

Location:
Lower Ground Floor,
 Fora Tagaytay, Aguinaldo Highway,
Tagaytay City

Opening Hours:
Monday to Sunday (10 am - 9 pm)

You should try these...

Krispy Pork Strips

KRISPY PORK STRIPS. This will be a new addition in their menu. I really like this one! Even though it was exposed and cooled down for a few hours it still remained crispy and crunchy. To be honest, it took us a while to eat the meals that were served to us because we have to take photos for our content. Bloggers do what we got to do. Hehe. So please don't judge us if ever you see us take a bunch of photos in different angles. We just want to get the right shot. So yeah, going back to the main topic here, the Krispy Pork Strips, I highly recommend that you try this out. In fact as I am typing this post I am currently craving for this.

Simple Pasta

SIMPLE PASTA. This is one of their best-sellers! They just used real tomatoes for the sauce, that's why it was called Simple Pasta but don't be fooled by the name although it is called that way the taste of this will surprise you! I'm sure that some of you will expect this pasta to taste sour because of the tomatoes but really it is not. It's a perfect balance between sweet and sour paired with garlic bread.

Prawn and Mango Salad

PRAWN AND MANGO SALAD. 149 pesos. Wow oh wow! I tell you, this is one of the best salads I have ever eaten! No kidding! The dressing they used is a bit spicy, then the mango is a tad sour. There was a battle of spicy and sour in my mouth! There was a good amount of prawns in there too.

Caesar Salad

CAESAR SALAD. 99 pesos. This is a good salad too. I can tell that they used fresh veggies.

Baby Back Ribs

BABY BACK RIBS. 229 pesos. I got to try this way back when they were called Lady Christine's Baby Back Ribs. It was the first baby back ribs that I tried! I remember falling in love with it. I kept going back for their baby back ribs. I thought it couldn't get any better but Pig Republic made it happen! They upgraded it! Definitely got more sauce now and it is a lot juicier and there is more meat. You'll also get caesar salad as the side dish for this.

Beef Ribs

BEEF RIBS. 279 pesos. This one is almost similar to the baby back ribs, except it is beef. I like this too but personally I prefer baby back ribs more. For this, you get mixed veggies as side dish.

Cream of Mushroom

CREAM OF MUSHROOM. 89 pesos. A nice warm soup to pair with your meals.

Pork Sisig

PORK SISIG. I like their sisig but I wish there are tiny chunks of crunchy pork instead of huge chucks. But it still taste good.

Family Deal or Group Meal

GROUP MEAL. If you are going to eat with your family or barkada, you should order this! It comes with porkchop, barbecues, fish, and chicken inasal.

Mango Mania

MANGO MANIA. 99 pesos. With just this amount, you'll be in heaven! The sweetness is not overpowering.

Hot Fudge Cake

HOT FUDGE CAKE. 149 pesos. Chocolate and vanilla goodness!! You'll love this so much because I did!! I actually miss this already. This is served hot so I suggest you eat it right away when it's served. It's best that you pair the cake and vanilla ice cream together. The cake may look too sweet but it isn't really.

Milkshake

MILKSHAKE. 159 pesos. I got to try their vanilla milkshake. I like how thick it is plus it got a good amount of vanilla.

MY OVERALL VERDICT

Location: To be honest, their location isn't ideal right now because they are located at the back of Fora Mall and not much people go to Fora Mall yet. There are only a few people that goes to the backside of Fora Mall. It's really a bummer actually, they deserve more because their food taste so good! On the bright side, they are located just right in front of Fora Mall's Mini Park or Garden so you get a good view while you dine. After we ate, my friends and I hang out at the "mini park" and took some photos.

Food: Their food doesn't only look good and instagram worthy but it also taste so delicious! My top three faves are their Krispy Pork Strips, Hot Fudge Cake and Baby Back Ribs.

Price: It's reasonable and you get a good amount of food. Very affordable. You'll certainly leave the restaurant feeling full and happy without being broke.

This is their current menu but they will update this soon.

Staff: The staff are accommodating and friendly.

Ambiance: Their interior feel so cozy. It might look small in photos but in reality it really isn't. It's spacious enough. You'll also love the slight touch of travel-themed decors.

HOW TO GET TO PIG REPUBLIC:

From Manila: You can ride a bus going to Tagaytay/Mendez/Alfonso. Have the driver drop you off at Olivarez Tagaytay or Fora Mall.
